If you would like to join us as an exhibitor this year, here is some information about the show that might help.
The 2010 show was a great success with nearly 8000
visitors and 180 booths of vendors and exhibitors all with gardening-related
products and services spread over two arenas. Because of the timing of our show, after a long Canadian winter
visitors are ready to spend. We get a large
number of visitors, most of them gardeners, to pass by your booth. The
rest is up to you.
Our area is blessed with many excellent businesses that
make our show the great event that it has become. The number of people visiting the show has increased
each year we have hosted it.
Booths
Included in the cost
of our booths are curtains dividing and defining the space around your
display as well as electrical hookup. The cost of booths are:
single (10'x10') $350, double $615, triple $875 and 4 for $1130.
Payment Dates
A deposit of $100 is due with signing of the contract. The balance due in two equal post
dated cheque payments dated Jan 15/2011 and March 1/2011.
Show hours, location and
admission
The show is held on two days and one
evening, in order to reduce the labour and accomodation costs for
exhibitors. This compares favourably with some other shows that run longer.
Here are the hours for this year:
note: this is not Easter Weekend
Friday, April 8 (6 - 9 p.m.),
Saturday, April 9 (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.),
Sunday, April 10 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Setup time starts Friday morning and tear down is
Sunday evening.

Advertising
Over several years we have developed
an effective program of advertising. We advertise on TV, radio,
newspapers and magazines, flyers(cards), and street signs. 18,000 flyers
will be printed for the 2011 show and will be distributed to gardeners and to exhibitors for
their use. Near the time of the show we stretch a banner across George Street in
Peterborough and set up signs beside the road. We purchase a number of
advertisements on CHEX TV in both the Peterborough and Durham areas. We also
purchase ads in magazines like Canadian Gardening and in the local newspapers
(Peterborouhgh This Week and the Peterborough Examiner). In addition to
the Peterborough area we advertise south to the lakeshore and west into
Durham.
Other Services for Exhibitors
Our friendly volunteers are
prepared to help make your experience enjoyable. We provide a vendor's
lounge for you to get away from the crowd for a few minutes break. Coffee and bottled water is available in the exhibitors
lounge during the show and during setup.
The preparations for our 2011 Garden Show are well under way. Booths are still available for the 2011 show.
